Fire rescue boat ready for operation in Mauritius

JGH Marine just delivered a custom made fire rescue boat to the Airports of Mauritius.

JGH Marine just delivered a custom made fire rescue boat to the Airports of Mauritius.

The boat arrived at Port Louis, in the North-West side of the island Mauritius, in early February, and was transported by road on its own trailer to the south of the island Blue Bay, were the boat is to be operated near the airport by the Coast Guard.

The rescue boat was built by our subconstractor AISTER, from Vigo in Spain.

Prior to the handing over of the boat AISTER performed a series of tough sea trials to test its abilities to perform under difficult circumstances.

Representatives from both Airports of Mauritius and JGH Marine A/S were present at the sea trials.

After handling over JGH Marine introduced the fire rescue boat to the Coast Guard and trained them in using the boat to be able to put out aircraft fires in the event of having plane crashes in the ocean and as well of the maneuverability of the boat, useful for emergencies close to the airport.
