As a part of a LTA with the UNDP, United Nations Development Program, JGH Group is working on electrifying 4 outlying hospitals in the less accessible regions in Southern Madagascar. Central Hospitals for Betroka, Ambovombe, Fort-Dauphin and Toliara will be supported with off-grid installations supplying 57kWh, 86kWh, 86 kWh and 172 kWh respectively.
The largest installation at Toliara was installed as the first project in January and February and the other 3 hospitals should have had their solar power installed shortly after. However cyclone Freddy, a category 3 cyclone, beat the team to the punch and took out most road access before they could make it to the next three sites.
At the moment JGH group is working with our local partners to ensure access is being monitored closely so that materials are safely brought to site.
We’re used to overcoming such obstacles, so we’ll be sending out our engineers to make up for the delays in no time.
